Apiksabaania, dabigatraania ja rivaroksabaania voidaan käyttää soveltuville potilaille LMWH:n ja varfariinin tehokkaana ja turvallisena vaihtoehtona syvän laskimotukoksen ja keuhkoembolian hoidossa ja sekundaaripreventiossa.

Kommentti:

Hoidon aloituksessa tulee huomioida, että dabigatraania ja edoksabaania käytettäessä hoito aloitetaan LMWH:lla, kun taas rivaroksabaanilla ja apiksabaanilla hoidon alussa käytetään suurempaa lääkeannosta verrattuna jatkon ylläpitohoitoon.
