The updated Finnish Current Care guidelines on preterm birth include recommendations on prevention, diagnosis and treatment of preterm labour. If a woman presents with imminent preterm labour, glucocorticoid prophylaxis should be administered from week 22+5. Broad spectrum antibiotics should be administered, if membranes are ruptured. Foetal distress and clinical chorioamnionitis indicate immediate delivery. Deliveries less than 32 weeks of pregnancy should be centralised in tertiary units.
