A combination of resin infiltration and fluoride varnish was compared to fluoride
varnish alone in primary molars. In permanent molars resin infiltration was compared
to mock or placebo treatments.

These systematic reviews and meta-analyses include partly same RCTs (1 out of 4 primary
molar studies and 3 out of 4 permanent molar studies).

One out of 8 studies (Bakhshandeh and Ekstrand, 2015) evaluated caries lesions on
occlusal surface; the other (7/8) evaluated proximal surface.

of caries, but the difference was not statistically significant.
