There is no evidence from randomized controlled trials concerning the benefits or harms of H1-antihistamines in the treatment of anaphylaxis.

H1-antihistamines for the treatment of anaphylaxis with and without shock. Cochrane Database Syst Rev 2007 Jan 24;(1):CD006160 [Review content assessed as u»1 included no studies. The authors found no randomized or quasi-randomized controlled trials comparing H1-antihistamines with placebo or no intervention in the treatment of anaphylaxis. These are likely to prove challenging to design and execute.
