Suomalaisen kaksostutkimuksen perusteella DSM-5-määritettyjen syömishäiriöiden ilmaantuvuus
ikävuosina 10–20 on naisilla 1 700/100 000 ja miehillä 220/100 000. Syömishäiriöt
yleistyvät tytöillä ja pojilla varhaisnuoruudessa, ja sairastumisen huippu ajoittuu
